Terrestrial and Coastal Navigation 1
Terrestrial and Coastal Navigation 1 is an introductory course that focuses on the use of charts in navigation. It introduced the basic geodesy concepts, different navigational charts and publications, and the buoyage system.
Students are expected to do chartworks and use plotting tools and related equipment.
By the end of the course, the students are assessed on their ability to correctly interpret symbols especially the hazards to navigation and in choosing the appropriate chart that is suitable for navigation and update navigational chart and publication based on defined criteria.
